Marmion Academy wins regional Latin competition

The Marmion Academy Latin Team took first place in the Illinois Latin Certamen League West Regional Competition on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Naperville Central High School.

The team, with sophomores Nathan Konen of Sugar Grove, Cameron Merker of West Chicago and Caleb Ritzheimer of North Aurora, will advance to the state finals to be held at Benet Academy in April.

They will compete against the champion teams from the other three regions.

Marmion Academy, a Catholic-Benedictine college preparatory high school for young men, is a community dedicated to spiritual formation, academic excellence and leadership development.
