Elgin VFW banquet hall open for rentals

Watch City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1307

The Watch City Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1307 recently remodeled its banquet hall which holds 200 people. The nonprofit service organization offers its banquet hall for party rental on Friday, Saturday and Sundays (weekdays when available) by calling (847) 888-9809. There is a full bar. The post will offer 25 percent off the rental fee with a copy of this article.

The community is invited to join in Lightning, five fast-paced bingo games, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and the Queen of Hearts drawing at 7 p.m. sharp on Thursdays. Tickets for Queen of Hearts on sale all week at the post canteen. Both are open to the public. Video gaming is also available.

Consider helping veterans as a post or auxiliary member, if eligible. Call Nick at (847) 888-9809 and ask about eligibility requirements.

The VFW welcomes new members. It is your advocate to help with any VA related issues. The VFW serves veterans and the community. All it takes to get your VFW membership started is your DD-214 for proof of military duty, overseas during a war, conflict, or if you if you are an Expeditionary Medal recipient.
