Bensenville's Annual Veterans Day Breakfast a Time for Appreciation and Reflection

On November 11, the Village of Bensenville celebrated and honored over 200 local veterans with a breakfast at White Pines Golf Club. Attendees also enjoyed a presentation on the Korean War by Don Sender, a historian, veteran of the Korean War and former Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Army Reserve.

"It is with great respect and gratitude that I thank the men and woman who have bravely served this country," said Village President Frank Soto. "Our military veterans put their lives on the line to protect the freedoms that we hold dear. Our annual Veterans Day breakfast is just one of the ways we try to say thank you and show our support to our local heroes."

The morning included a Color Guard presentation by local Boy Scout Troop 47 and guests enjoyed music from the Fenton High School Band and a special bag pipe performance by Village of Bensenville Trustee and Veteran Henry Wesseler. Veterans were also encouraged to bring memorabilia with them to put on display and share stories with one another. The event was free to all Veterans and their families.
