Enjoy 'Sunset Soiree & BBQ' with McHenry County Conservation District

Spend an autumn evening enjoying supper, a guided sunset stroll and songs under the stars at McHenry County Conservation District's "Sunset Soiree & BBQ" from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Pleasant Valley Conservation Area, 13315 Pleasant Valley Road, Woodstock.

Surrounded by beautiful prairie flowers and grasses, and tucked within a grove of oaks, the evening will begin with a delicious meal from BBQ King Smokehouse, an award-winning Woodstock restaurant.

Dinner is followed by a leisurely naturalist-led hike through the stunning fall prairie and savanna habitats, where information on the flora and fauna, as well as site history is shared.

They will finish up the evening around the campfire with acoustic music from Will Kruger. Bring a lawn chair to relax in by the fire. Nonalcoholic beverages are provided however; alcohol is permitted, bring your own. No glass containers are allowed.

Registration and fee is required by Tuesday, Sept. 19. This program for age 14 or older is $25 for county residents and $30 for nonresidents.
