Bensenville Carnival Raises $2,177 for Youth Coalition

On Tuesday, June 28, 2016 the Village of Bensenville and Bensenville School District 2 presented a check for $2,177.29 to the Bensenville Youth Coalition. The funds were raised from a carnival held in downtown Bensenville in mid-May 2016. The event brought thousands of guests to downtown Bensenville.

"Maintaining a great working relationship with all of our taxing bodies is critical in making Bensenville the best place it can be, and allows us all to better serve our residents and businesses," said Village President Frank Soto. "Working with School District 2 created a great opportunity to provide a fun time for residents, help support downtown businesses, and raise $2,177 for a great organization like the Bensenville Youth Coalition."

The Bensenville Youth Coalition is comprised of members from all of the Village's taxing bodies as well as the DuPage County Health Department, various churches, and healthcare organizations throughout Bensenville. The Youth Coalition created "B-Well Bensenville" which is a community-wide initiative whose goal is to encourage Bensenville's young people and families to achieve healthier lifestyles by promoting the activities and resources available within the community. This initiative takes a prevention-driven approach to health, supporting policies and environmental changes that promote healthy eating and active living in neighborhoods, schools and workplaces.
