Blues on Water Street to feature five acts

On Saturday, June 11, the Fox Valley Music Foundation, in collaboration with Water Street Studios and Batavia MainStreet, are putting on Blues on Water Street in Batavia, featuring five acts on two stages for a one-day festival of music.

Toronzo Cannon, fresh off the Chicago Blues Fest the night before, will be the headliner on the electric stage at The Dock at 8:30 p.m. and Edward David Anderson will headline the acoustic stage at Kiss The Sky at 8 p.m.

Andrew Diehl & the Nightmen will perform as the special guest star at 6:30 p.m. on the Electric Stage. Ross W. Berman will open the acoustic stage at 4:30 p.m. and Bubbles Brown at 6 p.m.

Food and drink will be available in the Water Street Studios, connected to both stages, courtesy of the Gammon Coach House with merchandise, art and other things for purchase throughout the day and evening.

Proceeds go to the Fox Valley Music Foundation.

Tickets are available at foxvalleymusicfoundation.com/blues-on-water-street/ and at Kiss The Sky, 180 First St. in Batavia. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets are limited to 300.

Blues on Water Street is part of Blues Month leading up to the 20th anniversary of Blues on the Fox, June 17-18 at Aurora's RiverEdge Park. Other happenings include "Poetry in Public Places" in Aurora (month of June); The Jack Mack Trio at Thursday in the Park at Riverfront Park in North Aurora (June 9); singer/songwriter workshops by Greg Boerner at the Aurora Public Library-West Branch (June 11) and by Scott Tipping at the Batavia Public Library (June 25); a Leland Tower Blues Symposium at the Batavia Public Library (June 14); Music in the Plaza at Millennium Plaza on Stolp Avenue in Aurora (June 15); Blues on the Fox film screening, "In Search of Blind Joe Death" at the Aurora Regional Fire Museum (June 16); and, of course, Blues on the Fox at the RiverEdge Park in Aurora (June 17-18).
