Defenders to host 'Big Fall Book Sale' Sept. 25-Oct. 3

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will hold its annual Big Fall Book Sale from Sept. 25 to Oct. 3, at the Algonquin Township Road District garage, 3702 Route 14, between Crystal Lake and Cary; drive straight back to the last garage on the right.

This year, there will be twice as many books. There is a variety of books and music - everything from kids' books to popular fiction, science to biography, CDs to vinyl record albums, and everything in between.

Hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 with $10 admission fee.

Additional hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Sept. 28 to Oct. 3; closed Sunday. There will be a Preview Sale from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25. There is a $10 entry fee, allowing participants first choice of the books. Oct. 2-3 will be a Bag Sale at a cost of $5 per bag.

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment. The group provides community residents with educational programs and volunteer action on pollution prevention, sustainable land use and energy and natural resource conservation.
