Take to the streets for the Palatine Street Fest celebration at Brockway and Slade streets in downtown Palatine. Event showcases live music from bands like Sixteen Candles and Trippin Billies, food, drinks, kids' activities and more. Telling tales

See nationally acclaimed storytellers and puppeteers, along with acoustic musicians from the Midwest, at the Second Annual Fox Tales Storytelling Festival on the outdoor patio at the Algonquin Area Public Library, 2600 Harnish Drive, Algonquin. For the love of beagles

Activities for beagles and their human friends are all part of the 13th Annual Beaglefest in Paws Park, 2800 W. Oakton St., Park Ridge. The Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education and Welfare (BREW) group hosts the event for current and previous beagle owners, potential beagle adopters and all dog enthusiasts. Activities include food, face painting, a beagle-kissing booth, vendors, games and more. Bring chairs and blankets for seating. $10 per dog. The Friends of the Opera House present the third annual Art, Antique and Collectibles Auction at the Woodstock Opera House, 121 Van Buren St., Woodstock.
