GLEN ELLYN, Ill. - Max St. George of the B.R. Ryall YMCA Swim Team has qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials. The 18-year-old Wheaton native swam the 100 meter backstroke in 57.16 seconds at the Illinois YMCA State Championships on July 19. Finishing first, he beat the qualifying time of 57.19 and earned a coveted spot in the 2016 USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials.

"Max's love of competition was extremely evident this entire year and it is what his training has focused on as well," shared Chris Flamion, head coach of the B.R. Ryall YMCA Swim Team. "To achieve this time with his entire team on deck was truly special. Our team and families, our Y and its members, and the local communities could not be prouder to be represented by Max."

The USA Swimming Olympic Team Trials are scheduled for June 26 to July 3, 2016, in Omaha, Nebraska. The largest swimming event in the country, it will determine the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swim Team that will represent Team USA at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
