Get your tickets for popular corned beef, cabbage dinner

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day early when St. James Episcopal Church hosts a Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner on Sunday, March 1.

This traditional Irish meal will be served along with a gourmet horseradish sauce and Guiness gravy in the parish hall, 516 Washington St. in West Dundee.

Due to the overwhelming response last year, tickets will be sold in two seatings, which include both dinner and performance. First seating will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second seating will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. During the meal, the award-winning Dundee Scottish Pipe Band will give a rousing performance of authentic Irish and Scottish music. The evening also will feature Irish dancing.

The Dundee Scottish Pipe Band was founded in 2010 by a group of pipers, several of whom had begun playing with two community high school marching bands, The Dundee Scots and The Imperial Scots. The Dundee Scottish Pipe Band took its marching band roots and the Scottish heritage of its home and rebuilt an organization of Dundee's first competition pipe band.

Purchase your tickets at the parish office or at the door. Seating is limited and advance ticket purchases are suggested.

Advance tickets are $12, $10 for seniors, or $6 for children, age 6 to 12. Tickets at the door will be $15, $12 and $7, respectively. Children under age 5 eat free. For advance tickets, call the parish office at (847) 426-5612. Visit www.stjamesdundee.org.
