Learn about preventing heart disease at free lectures

Centegra Health System will offer two free lectures in February to provide the community opportunities for learning about the prevention of heart disease. To register, call (877) CENTEGRA (236-8347).

Dr. Mohammad Kizilbash, a board-certified cardiologist with Centegra Physician Care, will discuss facts and myths about preventing cardiovascular disease at a free lecture from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake, 200 E. Congress Parkway.

Community members are encouraged to "Wine and Dine Your Heart" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road. Dr. Thomas J. Hinkamp, a board-certified independent cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon on the medical staff at Centegra Health System, will discuss heart attack prevention, screenings, symptoms and healthy lifestyle choices. Attendees will enjoy a dinner, wine tasting and a heart-healthy cooking demonstration with Julie Holbrook, Centegra cardiac registered dietitian.
