Recycle your holiday lights at village halls in McHenry County

The McHenry County Department of Health encourages residents to take advantage of the Holiday Lights Recycling Program offered at several area municipalities.

Residents can bring holiday light strands, rope lights, LED lights and extension cords. Unacceptable items include garlands, wreaths and other non-recyclable materials.

These municipalities offer drop-off locations:

• Lakewood Village Hall, 2500 Lake Ave., Crystal Lake, (815) 459-3025;

• McCullom Lake Village Hall, 4811 W. Orchard Drive, McHenry,(815) 385-2211;

• McHenry City Hall, 333 S. Green St., McHenry, (815) 363-2186;

• Prairie Grove Village Hall, 3125 Barreville Road, Prairie Grove, (815) 455-1411;

• Spring Grove Municipal Center, 7401 Meyer Road, Spring Grove, (815) 675-2121;

• Wonder Lake Village Hall, 4444 Thompson Road, Wonder Lake, (815) 728-0839;

• Wonder Lake Chamber of Commerce, 7602 Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake, (815) 728-0682;

• City of Woodstock Public Works, 326 Washington St., Woodstock, (815) 338-6118.
