Medicare and Retirement Programs Coming to Schaumburg Library

Adults nearing retirement or already retired will acquire valuable information about Medicare and financial security in two programs coming to the Schaumburg Township District Library. Both programs are free but require registration.

"Medicare Made Clear" will be held from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 27 in the Rasmussen South Room of the Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. The same program will also be held from 6:30-8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29 at the library's Hanover Park Branch, 1266 Irving Park Rd. Anyone who is already on Medicare or switching to it is welcome to come and learn about the changes for 2015, as well as the options and enrollment timelines for Medicare Advantage Plans and Part D Prescription Drug Plans. Annual enrollment runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7. These programs are presented by Insurance Broker Donna Spigolon.

"When I'm 60: Protect Your Retirement Funds" is scheduled from 2-3:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30 in the Central Library's Rasmussen South Room. Attendees will discover strategies for protecting their life savings against market loss. Presenter Rajan B. Shah of Secure Capital Management USA LLC will discuss accessing retirement dollars tax free, and how best to access Social Security income.
