Environmental Defenders adds second location for book sale

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County will expand its annual Big Fall Book Sale this year to include a second location.

As in years past, one sale will be at the Algonquin Township Garage, 3702 Route 14, Crystal Lake; drive straight back to the last beige garage. The sale continues now through Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day except Sunday.

The Defenders will hold a second sale running concurrently at a new location in Woodstock at the Soil and Water Conservation District garage, 2222 S. Dean St., just south of Route 14.

There is a variety of books and music, from kids' books to popular fiction, science to biography, CDs to cook books, and everything in between. Bag sales will be held on the last two days at each location.

In addition to raising funds, the sale also fits its recycling mission by keeping unwanted books from being thrown into landfills.

The Environmental Defenders of McHenry County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the environment. The group provides community residents with educational programs and volunteer action on pollution prevention, sustainable land use and energy and natural resource conservation.
