Democrats to host Mussman, Cameron for breakfast this Saturday

Greater Palatine Area Democrats (GPAD) will hold its monthly breakfast meeting this Saturday, August 16th from 9am to 11am at the Lamplighter Inn in Palatine.

State Representative Michelle Mussman will discuss the state's finances and the consequences of eliminating or reducing the income tax increase. Rep. Mussman represents the 56th Legislative District, which includes parts of Schaumburg, Elk Grove Village, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, and nearby suburbs. She is a full-time legislator and works tirelessly to stay in contact with the voters of her district.

Our other speaker will be John Cameron, Director of Political and Community Relations for AFSCME Council 31, the statewide public service union representing more than 100,000 active and retired Illinois state and local government workers. He will discuss the contrasts in political philosophy between the candidates for Governor and the importance of increasing turnout among Democratic voters. He will also discuss the effect of raising the minimum wage in Illinois.

We meet on the third Saturday of each month in the upstairs room at the Lamplighter Inn from 9am to 11am. Breakfast is available for purchase. Thanks to the staff at the Lamplighter Inn for being very accommodating and making us feel welcome. If there are speakers you'd like to hear from at future meetings, email info@gpadems.org or call (847)454-0134.
