Attend benefit banquet for Blessing Barn

On Friday, July 18, a benefit banquet for Blessing Barn will be at 6 p.m. at D'Andrea Banquets, 4419 Northwest Hwy. in Crystal Lake. Tickets are $75 each. There will be an open bar, sit-down dinner, silent auction and raffle. Dress in formal attire.

Blessing Barn is a nonprofit assisting those in need of clothing and household items. They have no resale shop. More than 90 percent of donated items go back out to local residents in need.

The nonprofit, which first started operating in 2005, was recognized with a McHenry County Green Award as a result. The organization cooperates with local agencies and assist their clients, as well as anyone who comes to them through word-of-mouth or referral. They help 80-plus families per month. They also supply clothing to community centers and low-income housing.
