Library's July Concerts Fill Town Square with Music

Throughout the summer, free concerts sponsored by the Schaumburg Township District Library will fill Schaumburg's Town Square with music. All ages are invited, and no registration is required. Audience members are welcome to bring snacks, beverages, lawn chairs and blankets, but not pets. The following concerts are scheduled for July.

Pamela Rose and Windy City Country will perform from 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, July 7. This band will play the classics, as well as contemporary country and rock 'n roll hits. Menchie's Frozen Yougurt will offer free samples prior to the performance.

Dancing with Class is scheduled from 7-7:45 p.m., Tuesday, July 8. A professional dance couple will perform and discuss various dance styules, including Latin, ballroom, hustle, disco and more.

The Class of '68 will deliver a powerful fusion of classic rock and soul music from 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, July 14. Songs by Rare Earth, The Beatles, Van Morrison, The Monkees, Otis Redding and many other artists will be performed.

Denny Diamond will provide an energetic tribute to Neil Diamond from 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, July 21. Whole Foods will hand out treats prior to the performance.

The Limited Edition Big Band with vocalist Julie Caselli will fill Town Square with swing, jazz and dance music from 6:45-8:15 p.m., Monday, July 28.

Battle of the Bands, a teen rock band competition, will take place from 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 29. All ages are welcome to attend and cheer on the bands.
