Join 'Canoeing Under a Full Moon' outing July 12

If you enjoy hiking under a full moon and enjoy canoeing, join McHenry County Conservation District staff for an evening paddle around Lake Atwood at "Canoeing Under a Full Moon" from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at The Hollows Conservation Area, 3804 Route 14, Cary.

The group will meet at Lake Atwood in the Hollows just before sunset and watch the full moon rise while paddling around the lake. As we paddle we will share stories and lore of the season, the night and the moon. The district will provide canoes, paddles and personal flotation devices. No flashlights please; we will let the moon light our way. Fee is $6 for county residents and $8 for nonresidents. Activity is limited to 20 adults 14 years and older. Registration deadline is Monday, July 7.

Preregistration is required and is accepted online at mccdistrict.org, and walk-in at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake, or walk-in only at Lost Valley Visitor Center, Route 31 and Harts Road in Ringwood.
