Library Presents Virtual Tour of Smoky Mountains

"A Taste of the Smoky Mountains" will be presented from 7-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 2 in the Rasmussen South Room of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd. Author and travel presenter Susan Miura will provide a PowerPoint and travelogue on the misty Smokies, from wooded nature trails and bubbling streams with waterfalls, to the restaurants and attractions of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Attendees will receive a small plate of southern snacks, along with a recipe packet, and have the opportunity to win prizes.

Miura will highlight the trails, sights and wildlife of Smoky Mountain National Park, and discuss local attractions, including Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, white water rafting, the Arts and Crafts Community, the Space Needle, Dollywood, dinner shows, Briarwood Safari and much more. Discussion of food will include local favorites, including trout, barbeque, gourmet pancakes and moonshine. Throughout the presentation, attendees will discover why this is the ideal setting for a family vacation, romantic getaway, or an outing with friends.
