Experience music under the moon in Crystal Lake

"Moonlight & Music," Pioneer Center for Human Services premier social event of the season, is just a few weeks away.

Hosted at the Crystal Lake Country Club Friday, June 20, the night promises to be a fun "Ravinia-like" experience. The open air concert will feature the return of Caribe Latin Jazz Orchestra who perform the high energy sounds of Santana as well as the smooth, sophisticated, jazzy sounds of Brazil.

In addition to individual tickets priced at $125 each, attendees can also reserve their very own "piece of the fairway" for a semiprivate party for 10 people. As space is limited and filling up fast, guests are encouraged to RSVP for the event by Tuesday, June 10. Lawn chairs will be provided to allow guests to fully enjoy the outdoor ambience. Dress is casual and a full cash bar will be offered.

"Join us as we celebrate yet another year of Pioneer Center and the community working together to 'empower individuals to achieve their full potential,'" said Christin Kruse, chief development officer for Pioneer Center, "Together, we have provided programs and services to McHenry County's most vulnerable for over 55 years. Don't miss out on the social event of the summer … reserve your piece of the fairway today!"

The evening also will include the Moonlight Raffle. New this year, anyone, whether you attend "Moonlight & Music" or not, can buy a chance to win one of three gift packages. Each has a minimum value of $1,500. A donation of $20 per ticket or $100 for six tickets is suggested. Raffle tickets for one of these great themed packages can be purchased online at www.moonlightandmusic.org.

The "His" package features Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers tickets, three-day Harley Davidson rental, two tickets to Aerosmith, Big Green Egg Smoker, foursome of golf and more.

The "Hers" package features a time share to Branson, two tickets to Journey and the Steve Miller Band, Kindle Fire HD, salon gift certificates, golf package and more.

The "Ours" package features a skybox for 15 to a Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates game, Arlington Racetrack private box for six, two tickets to Jimmy Buffet, too many restaurant gift cards to count, and more.

"Moonlight & Music" guests will enjoy a gourmet cookout and buffet offering a grill station with barbecue ribs, herb-roasted chicken, chili-rubbed pork loin and sides. Also available will be a salad station offering Caesar salad, broccoli and cauliflower salad and fresh summer fruit. To end the decadent feast, desserts will include a chef-scooped ice cream station with cookies.

Once the sun sets and the chairs are packed away for the night, guests are invited to move into the club's bar area for a fun filled after-party featuring John Hegner, a local musician. Each of the guests will receive a special gift to commemorate the event.
