The Arlington Heights Fire Department and the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be having their AHFD MDA Boot Drive on Friday May 30 where the firefighters will be out "Filling the Boot" in the major intersections of Arlington Heights at Palatine/Arlington Heights Rd and Northwest Hwy/Arlington Heights Rd and the downtown Arlington Train station between the times of 6:30-10:30am and 2:00-6:30 pm collecting to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. From 7 - 10am, 101.9 the mix morning road crew will be at the Palatine/NWHY location with prizes and giveaways and 102.3WXLC will be out there from 2-4:30pm with radio host Frank Wright! Last year, AHFD set a record and raised over $19,300 for MDA and are looking to beat that total with your help!
As a well-known health organization, MDA works directly in your local community. Individuals who are affected by more than 43 neuromuscular diseases are eligible to receive a vast array of services ranging from specialized health care to summer camp retreats for young adults. MDA's worldwide research program represents the largest single effort to advance knowledge of neuromuscular diseases and to find cures and treatments for them. Due to the direct contributions of generous individuals and organizations, all MDA services are provided without cost to those we serve.
The Arlington Heights Fire Department will also be hosting the AHFD MDA Benefit that same night on Friday May 30 from 7-12am at the House of Music & Entertainment(HOME) Bar at 1227 N Rand Rd Arlington Heights, sponsored by Lagunitas Brewery and EFFEN Vodka, there will be two live bands, live auction, and a 50/50 raffle with 100% of all the proceeds going to MDA! This event is open to the public. Please come out and support this great cause and meet your local firefighters!
