Celebrate Cancer Survivors Day with Centegra
Centegra Health System invites cancer survivors and their families to celebrate Cancer Survivors Day at the Centegra Sage Cancer Center from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 1. Call (877) CENTEGRA (236-8347) by May 28 to register.
Cancer Survivors Day is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families and people who are currently battling cancer and an outreach to the community.
People who join Centegra's celebration will enjoy light snacks and beverages and hear a live band. Special activities and testimonials will help mark the occasion. The presentation will be at 3 p.m.

The Centegra Sage Cancer Center is the hub of Centegra's cancer program. Its physicians and associates provide compassionate care, support and patient education throughout the cancer experience.
The cancer treatment team at Centegra includes professionals from many disciplines, including board-certified radiation oncologists and hematologist/oncologists, oncology-certified nurses, a genetics counselor, oncology-certified dietitians, oncology-certified social workers, an oncology-certified counselor and chaplain and a financial counselor.
The medical teams work closely with other providers to meet each patient's unique needs.
One way Centegra helps people cope with the side effects caused by cancer treatments is the Centegra STAR Program, which provides individualized rehabilitation treatments to improve a person's symptoms. These may include fatigue, musculoskeletal pain, joint stiffness, lymphedema, weakness, insomnia, memory loss, balance issues, anxiety and depression.
Centegra's team members are specially trained to understand a cancer survivor's needs and to provide coordinated rehabilitation care.
