W. Dundee holding board meeting at Spring Hill Mall

If you’re still doing your Christmas shopping at Spring Hill Mall Monday night, you can also drop in on West Dundee’s village board meeting being held inside the mall’s center court.

At the meeting, General Manager Amy Prew is also expected to announce improvements to the 33-year-old mall that so far include Wi-Fi, a coffee court and free data terminals.

The mall meeting is part of the village’s ongoing efforts to get to know its neighborhoods and make themselves more accessible to citizens.

That campaign kicked off last summer with village officials walking through Old Town and talking to neighbors. It continues next spring with visits to the Grand Pointe Meadows and the Fair Hills of Canterfield subdivisions, Village President Christopher Nelson said.

A meeting at Spring Hill Mall was always on West Dundee’s agenda, Nelson added.

“We thought the mall was an important place to visit because, hopefully, we’ll be talking about its future in the next several months,” Nelson said. “I thought it was important for the board to see the investment the mall has already made.”

The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
