Halloween Happenings with Addison Park District

Bring the entire family to Centennial Park on October 25 starting at 6:00 p.m. for the annual Scarecrow Festival and Pumpkin Carving event. Prizes will be awarded for most creative scarecrow and jack-o-lantern. Pre-registration is required for this event - sign up today!

Clean out your scary closets, garage, basement and junk drawers for a Community Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, October 26, hosted by State Representative Kathy Willis, Addison Chamber of Commerce and Addison Park District. This drive-thru recycling event is held in Community Park's parking lot, 120 E. Oak Street, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Volunteers will be onsite to help unload items at each station. A complete list of accepted and non-accepted items is listed online at www.addisonparks.org.

Kids from 7 – 11 years of age are invited to bring a pumpkin to Centennial Park on Tuesday, October 29 for The Great Pumpkin Party. Transform your pumpkin into a scary or funny pumpkin with provided supplies such as paint, glue, felt, glitter and more. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required for this event by calling (630) 233-7275.

Kids ages 10 and younger are invited to with their parents to the annual Candy Carnival on Wednesday, October 30 starting at 5:30 p.m. Play Halloween games for prizes at the Centennial Rec Center's gym. A costume contest will start at 6:30 p.m. for the Scariest, Funniest and Most Original costumes. Registration fees are discounted for anyone who signs up before October 22 – sign up today!

Could you survive a Zombie Apocalypse? Prepare for these Halloween creatures with Zombie Apocalypse Survival Training October 28-31 at Club Fitness. Sign up for this boot camp and train as though your life depends on it!

The Addison Park District is committed to providing the highest quality recreational opportunities and open space for everyone.
