An Independence Day concert will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at the Center for Spiritual Evolutions, 204 Spring St., in Cary.

Patriotic songs from the Civil War will be part of a musical offering by the Kishwaukee Ramblers. Material to be performed includes Americana, Celtic, Folk and Civil War music presented in authentic Civil War attire. Familiar songs are mixed with quality instrumental tunes. The group includes Gary Plazyk, Amy Beth and Neal Brown.

The trio formed in 2006 as the Kishwaukee Ramblers. They play a wide variety of instruments including banjo, hammered dulcimer, concertina, fiddle, guitar and many unusual and historic instruments. Gary Plazyk is the master of many fun, novel instruments. For information about the music, visit www.kishwaukeeramblers.com.
