Race to Ryall Raised Over $15,000 to Benefit the Y's Financial Assistance Program

B.R. Ryall YMCA’s Race to Ryall, held Saturday, May 18, raised over $15,000 to benefit the Y’s financial assistance program for families, youth and individuals in need in Northwestern DuPage County.

More than 200 runners took part in this community event. Participants ranged in age from three years old up to 80 years old, some were seasoned runners and some were completing their very first race. While many participants were local, the farthest traveling group came all the way from Venezuela. With the help of more than 75 volunteers, race day was a success.

This event is just one of many initiatives that take place during the Y’s annual community support campaign, which provides the opportunity to tell the story of the Y and demonstrate the impact made in local communities.

“It is through donations and support of events like the race, that the Y can continue to provide financial scholarships so that everyone has the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure,” explained Lynda Chott, CEO. “Community events like the Race to Ryall help us educate the community that we are a charity and the funds we raise are critical to the families and youth we serve.”

The B.R. Ryall YMCA of Northwestern DuPage County would like to thank all of the participants and their families, volunteers, staff and sponsors for their help in strengthening the foundations of community.

A special thanks to our sponsors for making Race to Ryall possible: Community Bank Wheaton/Glen Ellyn, Whole Foods Market Wheaton, M&M Orthopedics, Drs. Penny Belke & Katherine Borello, Theresa Hannon Financial Group, LTD., Athletico and Run Today.
