Lake Park Golf Course, 1015 Howard St., Des Plaines, opens for the season Friday, April 5. The 18-hole, par three course overlooks Lake Opeka and has holes that range from 50 to 115 yards.

"Lake Park is the perfect course to practice your short game, and a great place for everyone, especially youth, to learn how to play golf," said Brian Panek, manager of golf and facilities for the Des Plaines Park District.
