Faith in Action receives $7,700 grant

Submitted by Faith in Action of McHenry County

The board of directors of Faith in Action of McHenry County recently announced that the program received a grant in the amount of $7,700 from the Alfred Bersted Foundation, Bank of America, N.A., trustee on Jan. 2.

The funds will be used to ensure that trained staff can meet the increased demands for the services provided to local seniors in need.

Faith in Action is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that utilizes volunteers to provide numerous services to seniors throughout the entire county so they can maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life by remaining in their own home or the home of a loved one for as long as possible. They do not charge for services.

You can provide transportation, visits, yard work, minor home repairs or short-term respite care. While you must be 25 or older to drive a senior, volunteers of all ages are welcome.

If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a volunteer with Faith in Action, call the office at (815) 455-3120 or visit www.fiamchenrycounty.org.
