Congregrationto hose pancake breakfast, blood drive

The McHenry County Jewish Congregation will host a Community Service/Mitzvah Day and Pancake Breakfast fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 6.

As part of the event, Heartland Blood Centers will be on hand for a blood drive, and is scheduling donors for appointments from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Interested participants will also be engaged in public service activities including creating birthday treat bags for those served by Faith in Action, and desserts for those served by Public Action to Deliver Shelter.

Opportunities also will be available to tour the synagogue and meet with Rabbi Maralee Gordon and congregation members.

MCJC is also sponsoring a pancake breakfast, to run from 9 a.m. to noon, that is open to the public. Meal tickets will sell for $5 each for adults and $3 for kids under 8 and seniors over age 80.
