On December 2, the 103lb (5th grade) Lombard Falcons Cheerleaders achieved the ultimate goal in competitive cheerleading: completing their third consecutive undefeated season. The young athletes have won six first place trophies at State-qualifying events and just locked down their third Illinois Recreational Cheerleading Association (IRCA) State Championship pom title in as many years.

"We could not be happier for our girls right now," said Michelle Tadlock, one of the 103lb. cheer coaches. "Our team has doubled in size since 2009, which can be a challenge starting from scratch each season, but the girls work hard and dedicate themselves to their routine and accomplish great things. They came into this season with their eye on the prize and they didn't let anything get in their way of coming home with the gold."

The 103lb team was not the only success story for the Lombard Falcons this year. The 83lb (3rd grade), 133lb (7th grade) and the Varsity (8th grade) cheer teams also earned bids to the 5th annual State Championships. The 133lb (7th grade) team was also named "Grand Champions" at the Bill George Youth Football League (BGYFL) Competition on October 21 for having scored higher than any other team that competed. On the football side, the 93lb (3rd grade) Gold team was named Super Bowl Champions for their undefeated season.

"We are very proud of all of our athletes and coaches for another amazing year," said Lombard Falcons President Larry Wedoff. "Each season, our franchise is getting better and better and it's because the kids work hard, the coaches are dedicated and the parents are committed. We're already looking forward to what greatness the 2013 season will bring."

The Lombard Falcons, a member of the Bill George Youth Football League, is a volunteer, non-profit organization funded by participation fees, fundraisers, donations and sponsorships. The league offers boys and girls, ages 6-14, the opportunity to participate in organized football and cheerleading.
