Naperville Central stops Providence

Victoria Trowbridge scored 7 of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, and No. 13 Naperville Central outscored Providence 17-3 over the final eight minutes for a 44-32 win at the Naperville Central/Benet Tip-Off Tournament Friday in Lisle.

Shannon Ryan scored 12 points and Cierra Stanciel 7 for the Redhawks (5-0), who host Metea Valley today. In earlier action Friday Benet welcomed back Christen Prasse from an ankle injury and beat Metea 66-53.

WW South 56, St. Charles East 40:

Meghan Waldron poured in 24 points to pace the No. 2 Tigers at the Schaumburg Tournament. Melinda Franke and Maggie Dansdill each added 10 for WW South (3-2).

Montini 46, Schaumburg 35:

Kateri Stone and Malayna Johnson each scored 11 points, and No. 1 Montini (5-0) wrapped up a perfect finish at the Schaumburg Tournament.
