Jacobs suffers tough loss in season opener

The Jacobs boys basketball team opened the season Thursday night with a tough 58-56 loss to Urbana at the Quincy Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Golden Eagles led by 4 points with 1˝ minutes left in the game but couldn't hold on down the stretch.

Lake Ojo and Will Schwerdtmann led Jacobs with 11 points each and Ryan Ross added 8.

Jacobs will play Carbondale tonight at 6 p.m. and then finish the trip Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. game against host Quincy.
