School supply drive helps out Headstart students
Preparing for the school year can be financially stressful when budgets are tight. Corporate America Family Credit Union recognized a need within their community and launched its ninth year of sponsoring their school supply drive, “Project Backpack,” to lend a hand to students from Headstart.
The member-owned financial institution, at 625 Cog Circle, Unit 200 in Crystal Lake, asked members and residents of their community to donate a variety of school supplies to benefit students in need. This year’s drive was a great achievement, further proving that the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” holds true in today’s economy.
“Our community residents and members have been very generous and it’s truly inspiring to see all the donations being dropped off,” said Corporate America’s Branch Manager Krista Oehlberg. “I am lucky to be a part of Project Backpack. I get to see the community come together and make a real difference in the lives of our local students.”
Corporate America Family Credit Union appreciates the support of their members and local community residents and looks forward to other opportunities to make a positive difference.
