Schaumburg library hosts blood drive Aug. 8

The Schaumburg Township District Library is once again joining forces with LifeSource to help replenish dangerously low blood supplies. A blood drive is scheduled from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, in the Rasumussen North Room of the central library, 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg. LifeSource is in desperate need of blood for lifesaving transfusions, according to the release. Sign up by contacting the library’s Public Relations Coordinator Susan Miura at (847) 923-3120. Scheduling an appointment works best, but walk-ins are welcome. To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good physical health and have not given blood in the past eight weeks. For more information about blood donations and their uses, visit lifesource.org.
