Bartlett woman sues after boat crash

A Bartlett woman injured in a Lake County boating accident in May has sued the driver of the other boat, its owner and a local bar, her attorney announced Tuesday. Dena Renzulli suffered injuries to her ribs, leg, pelvis, and face in the May 26 accident on Pistakee Lake near the village of Fox Lake, according to a news release. The lawsuit targets Crystal Lake resident Brian D. Yost, who was driving one of the boats and was charged with operating a boat under the influence of alcohol and reckless operation, as well as the owners of Famous Freddie’s Roadhouse. The owner of the boat Yost was driving, McHenry resident Megan Murphy, was named as a defendant in the lawsuit, too. Renzulli was a passenger on a pontoon boat with her family when the accident occurred. Yost had just left Famous Freddie’s in Murphy’s boat when that craft struck the pontoon boat, Lake County sheriff’s police reports indicate. Renzulli is seeking more than $250,000 in damages, the lawsuit states.
