Dahlstrom, Grayslake Central roll to victory

Alexandria Dahlstrom pounded 9 kills and registered 7 blocks, and Grayslake Central’s girls volleyball team defeated host Woodstock North 25-18, 25-6 in a Fox Valley Fox Division match Tuesday.

Klaudia Basierak added 6 kills and 2 aces, and Gabi Casper and Anna Basten had 3 kills apiece for Grayslake Central (15-7, 3-2). Meghan Brewster dished out 21 assists on 55-of-55 setting and also served 3 aces. Casper contributed 15 digs, too.

“Our girls played well,” Rams coach Jason Janczak said. “We had good defense and played well at the net. It was an all-around good night for the team.”

CL Central d. Grayslake North: The Tigers won the Fox Valley Fox match 25-10, 25-14.

Grayslake North (5-12, 2-2) got 5 kills from Kelsey Klausner and three from Joanna Guhl.

Vernon Hills d. Highland Park: The Cougars were 25-19, 25-13 winners in the nonconference match, as Shannon Nugent and Jenn Claussen each slammed 7 kills.

Rachel Lira and Megan Meline chipped in 6 kills apiece for Vernon Hills (11-7).

The Cougars served 9 aces, including three by Meline. Sarah Lehman set 52 of 53 with 18 assists.
