Central High Booster Club to host golf outing

Submitted by Central High School Booster Club

It will be raining golf balls at the Central High School Booster Club golf outing Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Hughes Creek Golf Club in Elburn.

As part of the CHS Booster Club’s “Sgt. Jacob L. Frazier Memorial Golf Outing,” numbered golf balls will be dropped from a helicopter hovering over the course. The ball that lands closest to the flag is the winner, and whoever has been assigned that ball wins half the pot.

A foursome with 18 holes of golf and cart, golfer’s gifts and dinner is $400. For individual golfers, the cost is $110; dinner only is $40.

Registration opens at 10 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 11 a.m. After a day of golf and contests, a pig and beef roast buffet will be served at 4:30 p.m., followed by an auction and awards.

Proceeds from the outing benefit the Jake Frazier Scholarship, the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund and CHS Booster Club initiatives.

To sign up, mail checks, payable to the “CHS Booster Club,” to Denise Pawelczyk at 9N678 Santa Fe Trail, Elgin, IL 60124. Include the names of attendees; along with a contact number or email address. If paying by credit card, call Judy at Hughes Creek Golf Course, (630) 365-9200. Registration deadline is Sept. 21.

The cost for the 50/50 ball drop only is $10 for one ball or three balls for $25. Send a check labeled “Ball Drop,” made out to the “CHS Booster Club,” to Denise Pawelczyk at the address above.

For winner notification, make sure your name and current phone number are listed on the check. Golfers may purchase balls the day of the outing or pre-order using the directions above. Special thanks to Elgin Medi-Transport for donating the helicopter services.
