High School Students Build Robots at College of DuPage

Marissa Garcia (left) from Downers Grove South High School and Deanna Valdebenito from Wheaton North High School put their creativity to work in the robotics lab at College of DuPage during the four-day Pathfinder Summer Technology Camp for freshman and sophomore African American and Latino girls. The event, which was partially funded by the American Association of University Women, immersed participants in interactive technology sessions focusing on robotics, criminology, respiratory therapy, filmmaking and physics. The Pathfinder program at COD helps African-American and Latino high school students explore high-wage, high-tech career possibilities as they acquire leadership skills and experience.
