What was new in 2021-22:

HEHS Esports Team Hosted the MSL Conference Championships and IHSA Sectionals - qualified three students to the IHSA State Finals in Super Smash Brothers. Our Special Olympics Unified Basketball team won the IHSA State Basketball Championship in Champaign this March. HEHS also welcomed the development of two student activities: the HEHS Wellness Student Group and the HEHS Equity Student Group, focusing on ways to contribute to the school to enhance the student experience for all students. Part of the work of those groups included an initiative tied to our S.O.A.R. program we called #HawksHelp which focused on community-building and support for all stakeholders in our building. The Senior Class celebrated the culmination of their high school careers with a 22 Days of the Class of 22 where the last 22 days of school, each day was themed for the Seniors to participate in (Anything but a Backpack Day, Jersey Day, University Day, etc.). We ended the year for Seniors with our first all-school, in-person assembly in many years in our main gym where Seniors entered the gym together as a Class in front of the rest of the school gathered in the gym and they left together first as a class to officially be dismissed - a yearly tradition we were thrilled to be able to bring back this year.

What challenges did the Class of 2022 face as they returned to in-person school full time, and how did they overcome them:

The Hoffman Estates High School learning community is proud of the class of 2022 and all that it has accomplished given the many challenges faced throughout their four years. The Class of 2022 navigated an ever-changing environment with grace and understanding while maintaining a commitment to their academic and social/emotional growth.

Principal's reflections on the Class of 2022:

The Class of 2022 faced a number of challenges throughout their four years at HEHS and they demonstrated resilience, grit and flexibility through it all. Their leadership and mentorship will be missed as foundational elements of our high school learning community. This Hoffman Estates High School graduating class will S.O.A.R. as they enter the next chapter of their lives.
