Graduation Speaker: Elizabeth Wetmore, author of "Valentine"

Class Officers: Oscar Garcia, student council president; Kendall Milone, athletic council president

Academic achievements:

• One National Merit Scholarship Finalist, two National Merit Scholarship Commended Students, eight Illinois State Scholars, three AP Scholars with Distinction, three AP Scholars with Honor,five AP Scholars.

Extracurricular achievements:

• Illinois Masonic Academic Bowl Class 1A State Champions

• NAQT Small School Nationals Scholastic Bowl Tournament, 11th Place; Tommy Guyett, 10th Highest Scorer NAQT Small School Nationals

• ACES: Regional and Sectional Champions, 3rd place State - Fiona Boborci; 1st place State in English - Tommy Guyett; 4th place State in Biology, Alex Sept.

Theater productions:

• "Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic" by Matt Cox

• Capes and Coconuts: A Musical Theatre Showcase

What was new in 2021-22: New 7-day rotating schedule, updated locker rooms and weight room, a return to a robust co-curricular program.

Principal's reflections on the Class of 2022:

The Class of 2022 had a strong academic profile as evidenced by their accomplishments in the classroom as well as their college placements. These students relished the opportunities to learn that were facilitated by our dedicated teachers. They are all graduating from the Elgin Academy prepared to be successful scholastically and socially in college and beyond.
