Benjamin Black had heroin in his system when he caused a chain reaction crash that killed Matthew Ranken. Black's attorney argued the judge incorrectly considered an aggravating factor twice when issuing the sentence.

A judge heard testimony Thursday at a sentencing for Benjamin J. Black, of Sycamore, who pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI because he had heroin in his system when he caused a crash that killed the boy. The sentence will be announced next Wednesday.
