One dead in rollover crash in Kane County

A 33-year-old Aurora man was killed in a single vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Virgil Township, the Kane County sheriff's office said.

Police said Rolando Tecaxco-Cuamani, of the 800 block of Liberty Street, was pronounced dead at the scene on Meredith Road, south of McNulty Road.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the area at 3:40 a.m. for a report of a crash and found a Cadillac CTS lying on its roof with the driver still inside.

Sheriff's Lt. Pat Gengler said the initial investigation indicates Tecaxco-Cuamani was southbound on Meredith Road he crossed into the northbound lane and went off the road on the east side of Meredith, struck a culvert and rolled several times.

An area resident told deputies he heard a loud noise and looked outside and saw the vehicle. There were no witnesses to the crash, Gengler said.

The roadway was closed until approximately 7 a.m. while the crash was investigated.
