Seven Hooters locations holding Love Purse Drives

Purses can sometimes hold our most precious items. The team at Hooters wants to help local women feel special and loved. The Joliet, Lansing, Oak Lawn, Melrose Park, Downers Grove, Countryside and Orland Park Hooters locations are hosting drives to collect items. Hooters is partnering with #LovePurse to hold a new purse and toiletry drive at the restaurants from Dec. 1 until Dec. 15. The community is encouraged to visit their nearest Hooters location to donate new purses and toiletries.

#LovePurse provides purses and toiletries to local women shelters and other local nonprofits. The purses, toiletries and notes of inspiration collected at Hooters will be distributed to Guardian Angel Community, Wounded Sisters Foundation, Sarah's Inn, Metropolitan Family Services and FLOW Foundation.

Each purse will be filled with inspiration and intention to make each woman feel loved, valued and respected. The organization believes in "putting love on the shoulders of women in need, one #LovePurse at a time."

The Hooters employees will be filling the purses with toiletries, inspirational notes and delivering to Guardian Angel Community, Wounded Sisters Foundation, Sarah's Inn, Family Shelter Service and FLOW Foundation.

Toiletries include feminine products, deodorant, soap, body lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, compact mirrors, comb, socks, slippers, note pad, pen, a few coins for good fortune and most importantly, a note of inspiration.

"Domestic violence is an issue that is personal. When I was younger I was in a very toxic relationship and I was lucky enough to have family next to me and most women don't. For this reason I chose to give back to the women of the Guardian Angel Community. They escape a situation with sometimes nothing. We are able to give them back some dignity," said Hooters of Joliet General Manager Nicole Sancen.

In 2022, Sancen collected 37 purses filled with items at the Joliet Hooters location and delivered them to the Guardian Angel Community, an organization that provides services to victims of domestic abuse. This year six additional Hooters locations will join their efforts in helping the organizations.
