Nothing But Treble presents 'Glow: Celebrating Songs of the Season'

Nothing But Treble, Elgin's premier women's choir, presents "Glow: Celebrating Songs of the Season," on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Enjoy an evening of color and light at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church sanctuary, 256 E. Chicago St. in Elgin. The suggested donation is $15 or $5 for children.

As always, Nothing But Treble is sure to dazzle with repertoire ranging from the German and English Renaissance to contemporary settings of ancient texts; from folk music of the Sephardic tradition to the impressionistic "Glow" by Eric Whitacre.

"Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and other favorites will add a familiar holiday cheer.

Nothing But Treble is honored to be accompanied by Dr. Jeff Neufeld.

The choir celebrates connections between women of different generations and walks of life. Their musical backgrounds range from high school, college, and church choir singing to music teaching, conducting, and performing. Kathi Bernhard, a gifted conductor and vocal coach, is the musical director. Programming includes outstanding repertoire for treble voices with an emphasis on women composers and music from diverse cultures. The choir holds two concerts per year and performs at a variety of community events. They welcome all adult treble voices.

Interested treble singers may contact Kathi Bernhard at kbernhard@elgin.edu.
