Big changes ahead for this year's Santa Hustle Chicago

Get into the holiday spirit at the Chicago Santa Hustle 5K and Kids Dash Saturday, Dec. 2. This event, previously held at Soldier Field since its start in 2008, is moving to Chicago's Navy Pier this year. It will begin and end at the "People's Pier" on Chicago's beautiful lakefront.

The event kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with the Kids Dash, when youth ages 2 to 10 go dashing through a half-mile course, followed by the 5K at 9 a.m. Event proceeds will benefit Cal's Angels, an organization that provides a range of support for families with children who are battling cancer.

Santa Hustle Chicago's new venue provides participants with some cheery bonuses, including the chance to start and end the event in a warm, indoor location, along with convenient discounted parking, and special savings at several Navy Pier restaurants offered only to "Santa Hustlers." Another new addition this year will be a donut station along the course - added to sweeten the fun - along with Santa Hustle's traditional cookie and candy stations, holiday music and an abundance of cheer.

The course will run along the Navy Pier lakefront path, which includes many landmarks, including the Centennial Ferris Wheel, theaters, museums and more! Adult participants will jingle all the way to the finish line in hoodies and fleece headbands included with registration and can add a Santa or Mrs. Claus costume as an upgrade.

"We are thrilled to bring Santa Hustle to Navy Pier, where our always-epic-afterparty will also take place," said Aaron Del Mar, founder and president of Santa Hustle Race Series, LLC. "I invite everyone to come out and enjoy this holiday experience, where new traditions and lasting memories are created with family and friends."

Since the holiday season is the perfect time to give back, event proceeds will benefit nonprofit Cal's Angels, which provides a range of support for families who have a child fighting cancer. The organization has donated more than $1 million to local hospitals and distributed more than 125,000 toys through their "Grant a Wish" program.

The Santa Hustle after party will be the largest ever held in the event's 15-year history and encompass several Navy Pier locations. Awards and customized medals will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category, and all participants that cross the finish line get a finishers medal. Once the event is over, all are encouraged to stay after and take advantage of the many exciting entertainment options at Navy Pier.
