Enjoy drinks, music, games at Libertyville's Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is coming to downtown Libertyville Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 23, in the back lot at Mickey Finn's Brewery, 345 N. Milwaukee Ave. It is planned in partnership with the GLMV Chamber of Commerce and Mickey Finn's Brewery.

Enjoy live music while sampling a selection of bier, food available for purchase and live music from 5-10 p.m. Friday. Attendees can also play traditional Bavarian sports like Hammerschlagen or Masskrugstemmen, show off their finest dirndl and lederhosen, or simply relax with neighbors and friends.

New this year is "Family Garten" with family-friendly hours from 2-4 p.m. Saturday and regular event hours from 5-10 p.m. Saturday.

Alpine Thunder will entertain guests from 7-10 p.m. Friday. Attendees will enjoy music from The Phenix Band from 2-5 p.m. and The Oom-Pasters Polka and Variety Band from 6-10 p.m. Saturday.

General admission tickets are $25 and include a plastic stein and one beer ticket. VIP tickets are $50 and ticket holders receive two beer tickets, a commemorative ceramic stein and the opportunity to tour Mickey Finn's Brewery with the head brew master.

Additional beer tickets are available for purchase at the event by credit card only; this is a cashless event. You must be 21 years or older to attend; IDs will be checked at the door.

Free covered parking is available at the parking garages on Church and Lake streets. Or take the train; the Milwaukee district North Metra station is in the heart of downtown Libertyville.
