Friendship Village's Men at Work Display Showcases 70 Notable Careers
Seventy men, seventy ties, and seventy great stories about notable careers.
Friendship Village's Men at Work display, set up in time to celebrate Father's Day, featured professional photos of male residents, including a brief bio about their careers. All men from throughout all levels of care at Friendship Village were invited to participate in the month-long display.
Participants included many retired engineers, teachers, and coaches. Two of the men worked for United Airlines, one as a pilot and the other in the complaint department. There were representatives from law enforcement. One gentleman owned a vending machine company that had a machine at Friendship Village. (he shared that the number one seller was always Hershey's bars).
The hallway was festooned with men's ties of many different patterns and from many different decades.
Residents of the senior living community were fascinated to read about the careers of their neighbors. Known as the connector hallway running between Bridgegate and Bridgewater Place buildings at Friendship Village, the space provides a changing display, sharing photos, information, stories, paintings and more about or created by the residents.
