Elk Grove Township Flag Exchange/Giveaway on June 10

Republicans of Elk Grove Township (ROEGT) will give away for no charge 3- by 5-foot American flags in honor of Flag Day on Saturday, June 10 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Elk Grove Village VFW, 400 East Devon Ave., in Elk Grove Village.

"We encourage Elk Grove Township residents to bring their old flags with them for proper disposal by our veterans and in exchange receive a free new flag to proudly fly at their homes or businesses to express their deep patriotism and love of country," said Ed Lapinski, committeeman for the Republicans of Elk Grove Township. "This is one of the most sacred and important events ROEGT sponsors each year, and we are grateful to be able to work again alongside the Elk Grove VFW."

"We salute Old Glory and honor our great veterans, past and present, for their many sacrifices to preserve the freedoms we enjoy in America that are enshrined in our U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights," Lapinski continued. "We encourage citizens to display our majestic American flag which is the most visible and inspirational representation of our great nation and its promise of freedom, liberty and justice for all."
