Steel Beam Theatre's Industry Night is a way for those in the entertainment industry or aspiring to be in the industry to see an award-winning production while gaining an introduction to the St. Charles theatre which could lead to future work.

"Steel Beam Theatre is preparing to announce our 2023-2024 season, so this is the perfect time for theatre people to come meet us. We are always looking to expand our network of talented actors, directors, technical designers and other members of the theatrical community," says Steel Beam Theatre managing director Catie Early. "We hire everyone from seasoned professionals to those looking to get their start in the industry. So come say hi and get your foot in the door."

"The Princess Strikes Back: One Woman's Search for the Space Cowboy of her Dreams" is a one-woman comedy that has been packing houses in Chicago and is now going on tour. The heartwarming show is about love and romance with just enough sci fi references to make you giggle - but you don't have to be a sci fi fan to enjoy it.

Starring actress and comedian Victoria Montalbano, The Princess Strikes Back is a thrilling romp that tells the star's search for love despite none of her prospects ever living up to the shadow cast by her first crush: Han Solo - the handsome, sarcastic, dashing wanted man brought to life by Harrison Ford.

"This story is hilariously funny but at the same time has elements of nostalgia and romance," raves Rikki Lee Travolta who is executive producing the joint production between Steel Beam Theatre and Truth & Justice Entertainment.

In addition to the Industry Night on Friday, May 19 at 7:30 PM, The Princess Strikes Back also plays Sunday May 21st at 3 PM at Steel Beam's divine space in the heart of downtown St. Charles. Steel Beam Theatre is a professional theatre in the Western suburbs of Chicago known for the quality of its productions and dedication to being a safe space for all.

The opening act for "The Princess Strikes Back" on both Friday, May 19 and Sunday, May 21 will be Any Suggestions? Improv Troupe. Any Suggestions? will also headline their own full-scale improv show on Saturday, May 20 at the theatre.

"We are so lucky to have Any Suggestions? as a part of this weekend of comedy at Steel Beam Theatre," says Travolta. "Any Suggestions? is one of the funniest improv groups I have ever seen. The beauty of improv is every performance is different and you never know what you're going to get each night, but with Any Suggestions? you know it will always be hysterical."

In addition to getting to see the first stop of The Princess Strikes Back tour, Industry Night at Steel Beam Theatre on May 19 is a great networking event. The staff and board of directors at Steel Beam are actively employed in other areas of entertainment including as producers, directors, theatre critics, and fine arts instructors for companies ranging from Paramount Theatre in Aurora to PBS television, as well as past work with major recordings labels, film studios, and downtown Chicago theaters.

"Networking and meeting the right people can be just the step entertainers need to take the next step in their careers," says Early. "The Steel Beam Industry Night is the perfect way to do that. Please come so we can have your contact info for possible work with us."
