Kane County Master Gardeners host plant sale June 17 at Idea Garden
Pick up plants and goodies for your own garden, and then tour the 2023 Kane County Master Gardener Idea Garden on Saturday, June 17, from 8:30 a.m. to noon in St. Charles.
The Kane County Master Gardener Plant and Garden Sale includes perennials, natives, vegetables, tools, books, and yard art. Many plants will be priced between $1 and 5 each. Plus, get free advice from trained Master Gardener volunteers.
Payments may be made by cash or check only, and proceeds support local community garden projects and other Extension programs. The event will be at the Kane County Master Gardener Idea Garden, on the northwest corner of Route 38 and Peck Road, at 3480 Lincoln Highway, St. Charles. Visitors may enter from the Route 38 driveway.
The plant and garden sale marks the first of three summer open houses where the Master Gardeners invite everyone to see inspirational garden ideas up close, not just online. The garden features unique combinations of flowers, natives, herbs, fruits, and vegetables in creative designs easy to replicate at home.
Stop by June 17 during the sale or Saturdays, July 15 and Aug. 19, from 8 to 11 a.m.
This year's Idea Garden includes a cauliflower pizza garden, the Shady Lady She-Shed, a sensory garden, soil comparisons, winter sown food and flower patches, and more. Plus, plots designed just for Monarchs, guinea pigs, or chickens.
